Detailed Description
Folder 1: Approximately 50 photographs showing Sealaska Corporation Board of Directors, shareholder gatherings, and Sealaska Corporation events, the re-dedication of the Auk’w Village Totem Pole, circa 1987-1993, and a picture of Hoonah clan leaders, circa 1930.
Folder 2: Two photographs. 1) A black and white photograph of a Tlingit group posing on the street in front of two coffins, for a funeral, with musical instruments and clan at.óow (regalia) on and near coffin, circa 1915. Photo is labeled by photographer as “Indian funeral.” 2) Black and white photograph showing Hoonah clan and clan house leaders posing in regalia, circa 1930. Individuals are identified on reverse of the image.
Folder 3: Thirteen photos of southeast Alaska canneries, circa 1940’s-1950’s. Canneries from Angoon, George Inlet, Hydaburg, Juneau, Sitka, Chatham, and Klawock and included in this folder.
Folder 4: Approximately 50 photographs showing Sealaska Corporation Board members at various gatherings. This folder also has a few pictures of important Tlingit elders including Walter Soboleff and Clarence Jackson. Those included in photo collection Rosita Worl, Albert Kookesh, Jacqueline Johnson Pata, and J. Tate London.
