Haa Aani, Our Land Photograph Collection, 1946-1998 | Sealaska Heritage Institute Archives

Scope and Contents: This collection consists of sixteen photographs, nine negatives, and a small number of images and maps collected by the editor Walter R. Goldschmidt and the Sealaska Heritage Institute which were used in Goldschmidt’s co-edited book with Theodore H. Haas; Haa Aani, Our Land; Tlingit and Haida Land Rights and Use (Juneau, Sealaska Heritage Foundation, 1998). The collection contains eight images taken in 1946, additional photos of this period, and a number of modern photographs. Photos in this collection have been arranged in relation to their type and age (excluding the last folder which was added as an addendum). Page numbers in Haa Aani, Our Land are listed with the corresponding image in the collection inventory. This collection does not contain all the photos used in Haa Aani, Our Land, but it does contain some images not used in the publication. Also included is paperwork concerning the images used to compile Haa Aani, Our Land.
