Scope and Contents: This collection consists of photographs taken by Roy Mitchell and Sealaska Heritage Institute (SHI) staff concerning an annual Native Language Institute ran by SHI during the late 1990s and early 2000s. Comprised mostly of 4 x 6 inch color photographs, these photos show Mitchell’s involvement with and students interacting at the annual Native Language Institute program during the 1999 through 2001 years. Also included are photos of ‘SKI’ gatherings of various clan houses, images of the preschool language program, and snapshots of fishing trips.
